CRPS is a Neuroinflamatory Disease of Peripheral Nerves that is rare, debilitating, painful, and very poorly understood.
Definition of CRPS
Complex – Associated with many medical issues. Affects a number of biological systems in the body (i.e., nervous, vascular, muscular, skeletal)
Regional – At onset, localized in a particular region of the body (i.e. left arm, right leg)
Pain – Severe debilitating pain is often the primary symptom
Syndrome – A collection of symptoms that occur together
Do you have CRPS in your arms or legs? Some of the symptoms of this disease include the following:
- Severe pain and skin sensitivity
- Temperature instability or sensitivity
- Abnormal swelling, hair growth, color change, or nail changes
- Limited range of motion of weakness
