CRPS is a Neuroinflamatory Disease of Peripheral Nerves that is rare, debilitating, painful, and very poorly understood.

Definition of CRPS

Complex – Associated with many medical issues. Affects a number of biological systems in the body (i.e., nervous, vascular, muscular, skeletal)

Regional – At onset, localized in a particular region of the body (i.e. left arm, right leg)

Pain – Severe debilitating pain is often the primary symptom

Syndrome – A collection of symptoms that occur together

Do you have CRPS in your arms or legs? Some of the symptoms of this disease include the following:

  • Severe pain and skin sensitivity
  • Temperature instability or sensitivity

  • Limited range of motion of weakness

Here at the UAMS Interventional Pain Clinic, we have developed a peer reviewed, published, multi-modality, multi-disciplinary protocol for the treatment of CRPS to help treat the debilitating symptoms of this disease.

The UAMS CRPS protocol includes the following:

  • Medication management
  • Interventional procedures
